About us

When we give water,
a community is transformed.

A 501(c)(3) with a goal of bringing clean drinking water to five communities each year over the next five years across Nigeria, Uganda, and beyond.

Give Water Give Life provides clean drinking water to those in need, enhances health and well-being, and makes a difference in people's lives. That mission is personal, rooted in the lived experience of our founder.

We work with communities to build reliable water systems they can care for. Before construction begins, we assess the site and each community signs an agreement about the water point, access, and ongoing care. A groundwater survey helps identify where water is likely to be and how deep drilling may need to go.

Fifteen wells are complete and roughly thirty thousand people now have reliable water. Ninety more communities are waiting on funding.

This is slow, durable work. It is also the only kind worth doing.

The founder

It began in a village without water.

"Children, pregnant mothers, the elderly — all who daily partake in contaminated water are always on my heart."

I was born in Amagunze village, where there was no clean drinking water. Over the years, I lost many childhood friends to water-borne diseases, missed school, and was regularly sick. At eight years old, I even had a near-death experience, where my father had to find a doctor in the middle of a rainstorm.

Fast forward many years, and I have had the great opportunity to immigrate to the United States of America — where clean drinking water is not only a given, but in abundance. Now, as an American citizen, I can partake in a variety of clean drinking water; albeit, not without a constant reminder of my fellow brothers and sisters who daily do not have simple access to water.

Therefore, I founded Give Water Give Life — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt organization whose mission is to provide clean drinking water to five communities each year over the next five years. Come and join me in my journey to bring drinking water to all communities on our Earth. No child should have to suffer due to a lack of clean water.

What drives us

Mission & Vision

Our Mission

Clean water, real dignity.

To provide clean drinking water to those in need, enhance health and well-being, and make a difference in people's lives.

Our Vision

Water for every community.

To ensure clean drinking water — a critical basic human need — reaches as many people and communities as possible, by:

  • Improving impoverished communities through better sanitation and hygiene
  • Decreasing waterborne deaths and diseases
  • Helping children stay in school
  • Supporting economic sustainability
How we work

A stubborn belief about water.

That clean water shouldn't be temporary, shouldn't depend on outsiders, and shouldn't be the hardest thing a community has to fight for. We build locally-owned wells across Nigeria and Uganda, then get out of the way.

Principle 01

Community care

Every project starts with an agreement about the water point, access, and ongoing care. The people using it look after it day to day.

Principle 02

Built to last

The systems are built for reliable service, but equipment may require maintenance or repair. We document the build and share what we can after handoff.

Principle 03

Accountable

We share photos and updates from each site where we can, and access stays open to every member of the community, always.
